La Femme Nikita

In the grim world of the TV series La Femme Nikita, the operatives must live by the rules or die. In the world of Section, a clandestine spy organization that makes the CIA and NSA look like  Sunday School picnics, they are forced to fight for “freedom;” if they try to escape, they are killed. A curious existentialist position indeed.  But a few operatives rebel against the rules. Jurgen is one of them. Like Nikita, his soul has not been crushed by this Kafkaesque organization. This character is Bruce’s best hero role and a very popular one on the TV series.  Bruce plays the mysterious Jurgen with both sternness (as an operative) and tenderness (toward Nikita). He displays a range of emotions, from grim determination to emotional vulnerability, from cool killer to hot lover.  When it comes to heroes, Bruce Payne rules.
